Sunglasses – H&M Kimono – Zara Bralet – River Island Shorts – Zara Belt – Primark Wellies – Hunter
I love being set challenges, so when Pearl & Butler asked me to take part in their blogger competition with two tickets to North Wales’ Festival Number 6 up for grabs, I rose to the opportunity. Having already attended Wireless not so long ago, my festival fever is still running high and so I put together this festival inspired outfit in next to no time.
Perhaps being slightly optimistic on the weather front, I chose to wear my fringed denim shorts with my white lace bralet. I think I can vouch for everybody when I say that denim shorts are pretty much a go-to when it comes to festival attire – simple, comfortable, and can be paired with just about anything.
Round sunglasses are a big hit this summer, reminiscent of the late legend, John Lennon, although I don’t think I could quite pull off those signature blue lenses! I’m still yet to become a fully fledged round sunnies convert, but the half-rimmed gold effect is a nice touch. My floral kimono completes the outfit, adding a pop of colour and yet again more fringing. Festival and fringing seem to go hand in hand, right?! I love the boho chic feel it creates. And just to be on the safe side, I popped on a pair of plum Hunter wellies. Gotta keep those tootsies protected!
So that’s a round up of my festival inspired outfit. All I need now is some live music, real sun and a TAN. Ahh…
Last Sunday I attended Wireless festival in London. I’ve only ever attended one festival in my life which was Parklife in Manchester, so it was exciting to experience a case of festival fever once again (this time without the rain and mud!). Being highly unprepared on the wardrobe front and only deciding what to wear half an hour before we had to leave, I threw on this top and shorts combo. I purchased the shorts from Zara last summer and fell in love with the cute, crochet design. And since about 90% of the girls at Wireless were wearing denim shorts, I was really glad I opted for these! My top is just a plain, dipped-hem style vest from Primark – simple, lightweight and of course, NEON (will I ever get over this trend?). I accessorised with my floral crown, adding a girly touch, but chose to grunge it up a little with my Topshop Mighty boots (here) and dark plum lip in the shade Media by M.A.C.
Wireless was far better than I imagined and I had an amazing time drinking and dancing around in the sun. My highlights were definitely the two main acts: Justin Timberlake and Jay Z, and of course Rihanna’s surprise entrance! I definitely need to attend more festivals in the future; they’re such a fun summer thing to do and make a nice change from an indoor concert. Next stop Coachella anyone?
With the festival season in full force, I’m sure many of you have become faced with that all important question – WHAT TO WEAR?! Thanks to boohoo.com, your wardrobe woes can be abolished, since they’ve kindly sent me their festival lookbook to give you some festival fashion inspo. If like me, you’re attending London’s Wireless this weekend then these looks are no doubt the perfect solution to get you festival-ready. Bright, bold prints are the way forward, especially if you want to be noticed by JT himself (I know you do). I love the Bohemian-esque feel to each of these looks. The fringing, tie-dye and headbands look super cute together and the white jacket is to die for (tdf to those in the cool crew). The neon bracelets and chunky gold rings are the ideal accessory, and the biker boots paired with fluoro socks will keep your tootsies stylish and free from any muddy patches!
I’ve picked out my favourite celebrity festival fashion look, Vanessa Hudgens. How beaut is this outfit?! Boho chic is definitely a big hit on the festival scene this year.
So if you’re feeling inspired, head over to boohoo.com to recreate these looks for yourself. I know I’m going to.
Have fun at your festivals!
