Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant & Special Cleansing Gel*

The sun’s out, yet I’m inside blogging since I feel I’ve neglected my little blog somewhat over the past week. Sometimes I think blogging would be so much easier if I had a personal photographer on call to take my outfit and beauty photos – wishful thinking, I know. Today I’m talking skincare, which is an apt topic seeing as I’m having a bad skin week. My skin is extremely temperamental; one day it will be fine, then the next I’ll wake up and it’ll look like my hormones have been on overdrive all night. Not good.

I received the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant and Special Cleansing Gel during fashion week and haven’t stopped using them since. They’re designed for all skin types and are fragrance free, making them perfect for those with sensitive skin. After removing my make-up, I apply the Special Cleansing Gel to clear my skin of any excess dirt. It works like a charm, foaming up to create a gentle lather that feels soft on the skin and leaves it looking fresh. Next, I use the Daily Microfoliant – an innovative take on a skincare product, in that it comes in a powder formula and when applied to wet skin, turns into a creamy paste with tiny exfoliating particles. The good thing about this product is that it doesn’t feel harsh on the skin or leave it looking sore and red – which I sometimes find a problem with certain facial exfoliators.

In terms of clearing the skin of blemishes, I’d say these products aren’t really designed for that purpose, but instead excel in keeping the skin thoroughly cleansed, clean and radiant. I use them as part of my daily skincare routine alongside the products that specifically aim to target blemish-prone skin.
