Being a huge M.A.C makeup junkie, one of the best parts of the press area at London Fashion Week is the M.A.C cosmetics media lounge. As this is my fourth time at fashion week, I know that appointments get booked up fast, so on day one the first thing I did was book my makeover slot.
Essentially, the lounge is like a studio room, with displays of M.A.C’s new lines for AW14 and a wifi and Samsung tablet zone where you can sit and write or live-stream catwalk shows. Appointments come in 30 minute time slots, which gives enough time to have your eyes and lips made over. My makeup artist was the lovely Arabella, who I chatted to for a couple of minutes about what makeup look I was after. I decided on purple and brown tones with a winged liner flick from which Arabella created the most beautiful purple smoky eye. As this is an unplanned blog post, I unfortunately didn’t take down the names of all the products she used, but from what I remember, Arabella first applied black pencil liner to my eyelid and blended it out with a duo fibre brush. She then used a paint pot to cover my lid and a bright purple eyeshadow (in shade Nocturnal) blended with a brown-toned eyeshadow. She finished the look using black gel liner to produce a winged flick. I was so happy with the final look and was given a little goodie bag of makeup treats to play about with at home. Not bad for a Sunday afternoon, hey…
